A Deeper Dive Into The PCC Markers
Tuesday, February 26, 2019, 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM

An invitation from Juliann Spoth, MCC & Jim Smith, PCC, presenters at the February Chapter meeting
At our February chapter meeting, a capacity crowd of coaches explored the behavioral markers developed by the ICF. These markers are used to identify the presence (or absence) of observable behaviors that reflect the ICF Core Competencies in exam tapes and transcripts for participants in ICF-accredited training programs and for applicants submitting the same to ICF for PCC certification. With some modification they are also used for ACC certification.
Collectively, we (Juliann and Jim) have more than 100 hours training in the use of the PCC Markers and regularly assess and offer feedback to coaches. After offering an overview of the markers, we invited everyone in the room to practice at least one of the markers in short coaching sessions. The room was loud: 44 coaches created 44 takeaways!
Knowing that the 90 minute session was too short to address all the questions, we offered to do a follow-up session and answer the remaining questions.
The questions fell into into two buckets:
- Questions about the credentialing process, such as accreditation challenges, following the portfolio path, how to review one’s own progress/competency, about pitfalls in the process.
- Questions about coaching dilemmas in general, including: How do I shift from Consultant to Coach more? How to move forward in a session? How to bring coaching sessions back on track? How to support accountability in the client? How to coach someone you know?
In this one-hour webinar, we (Juliann and Jim) will answer these questions as well as entertain questions that arise spontaneously in the moment from participants who want to know more about ICF certification, coach training, and the PCC markers. It will be recorded and the recording subsequently posted on the Cleveland Chapter website.
If you attended the live session, review and have available the handouts when you come to the webinar.
If you did NOT attend the session and are unfamiliar w/ the PCC Markers or Core Competencies, you must visit these links and review the information in advance. We will NOT be reviewing this basic info on the webinar.
